Unlike Meade Telescopes, reflection or refraction for beginners?
I was thinking of buying my telescope store and wanted Discovery know about the differences my first field must be a reflection or refraction? What are the main differences between them in terms of keeping the hobby insteresting of astronomy for a beginner and maintaining a sufficient interest to build on it. A model of refraction is Meade 80EQ-AR Telescope for about $ 229 Waiting for a reply soon. Thanks to all
It is more expensive to make a lens to a mirror of the same size, so you usually get more for your money with a reflector. Refractors are generally better for lunar and planetary work because they provide sharper images and do not need the light gathering power. Reflectors are best suited to galaxies and nebulae, where the sharp images are less important but it needs a larger goal to collect enough light.
