Good quality telescope?

I'm trying to find a good quality telescope to view planets, but I'm not sure what is best. I was looking for in the Meade ETX-80AT-TC Astro Telescope, does anyone know if this is good or can anyone suggest another. I'm looking to spend between $ 300 – $ 500.
