Decide what to wear eye with my telescope?
What is an easy way to know which eye to use with my telescope? I have a 1300 x 100 Maksutov-Cassegrain. I want to see deep space? "I can handle this area? Here is the link to mine: http://bushnell.com/general/telescopes_northstar_78-8840.cfm Do you know of a decent price let me see telescope deep space? I would buy another. I heard the Dobsonian is best, is that correct? (I wish I could afford a Richter.)
For deep sky objects, usually want a low magnification, so I'd use the 25 mm (or is 20 mm, the website says so) mainly. As another reply said, the eye of 4 mm is the way too short for the size of the telescope. I might buy a 32mm eyepiece (not 40 mm) lower-power views, and 8 or 9 mm for higher power (the Moon and planets). Yes, an 8 "or 10" Dobsonian will be much better for deep sky objects: much more light gathering, and a wider field of view. I'd recommend one of the Source below.
